I'm a woodworker and artist living in Los Angeles. I was raised in the wilds of Northern California and the freedom and connection to nature that I experienced in childhood had everything to do with who I would become. Nature is my muse and teacher. My work is handmade. I carve, sand and finish every piece by hand. The intimate connection to the materials and process is of utmost importance. The wood is the boss, and each piece tells me what form it will take. When I finish a piece I set it among my natural objects, picked up on walks and travels over the years, to assure that it resonates in the same way that beautiful organic objects do. My wooden wares are functional art and they are meant to be used and passed on to future generations.
